Discussion:
Hmmm......Sierra look like they might have some projectiles that need some testing!

Marko; you asked if I've tried the Sierra 40Gn Blitzkings, and the answer is
no, and I probably wouldnt with our current rifle lineup.

Not that they look bad at all, it's just that the .223 is one of the 2
station rifles, and I keep feeding it a solid diet of 55Gn pills.
I dont use this rifle much(spends most of it's life in the care of the
overseer), and I subscribe to the KISS principle when it comes to rifles
used by staff.

If I ever buy a second .22 cal rifle, I'd think about trialling some
alternative projectiles, as I could play around with it myself.

That said, the 55gn Blitzkings look worth trialling!

However, in looking at the specs for the Blitzkings, I come upon a few
Sierra projectiles that I'd like to trial at some stage:

In .243, the 70Gn Blitzking,
In 7mm, the 100gn HP Varminter,

and in .308, the newly released 135Gn HP Varminter.

The reviews of the first 2 are full of people very impressed, and the 135Gn
HP looks like it might be the perfect All-round .30 cal projectile for this
sort of work.

I cant see anyone selling the 135gn pills in Australia as of yet, but I
might order a few sample packs of the other two in the mean-time...

So many projectiles; so little time...

Thanks Rod, are you running 1:8 or 1:11 barrel twist on your 223's?

Cheers
